George Fox University, a Christ-centered institution, invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions across various academic disciplines within the Division of Health & Behavioral Sciences. Adjunct faculty play a crucial role in delivering high-quality instruction while fostering student engagement in a supportive Christian learning environment. Teaching opportunities may be available in undergraduate and graduate programs and vary by department and semester.

Job Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:

  • Teach courses in alignment with the university's mission and learning objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies that promote student engagement.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
  • Utilize the university's learning management system (Canvas) for course management.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to university policies.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and service.
  • Serve as a Christian role model to students, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We Are Looking for Candidates Who Have:

  • A master's degree, or significant professional experience, in the relevant field (a doctoral degree may be required for certain disciplines).
  • Demonstrated expertise in subject matter and commitment to student learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to integrating faith and learning within the academic discipline.

  • Residence in the state of Oregon or Washington.
  • A commitment to the University's Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity.

Preference Will be Given to Those Who Have the Following Attributes:

  • Professional experience in the field related to the subject being taught.
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education.
  • Familiarity with online and hybrid teaching modalities.
  • Engagement in scholarship, research, or professional development.
