SUMMARY

Plans and administers all phases of our sales department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide a service and leadership role on behalf of our sales department activities to all departments, creating a well-respected and sought-after department.
  • Oversee the operations of the sales department including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Contributes to the achievement of the Company's financial objectives by monitoring income and expenses, enforcing corporate payment policies, and ensuring timely collection of accounts receivables.
  • Manages allocation, availability, and future development planning of the cemetery.
  • Conducts regular market analyses of competitor pricing, offerings, and trends to inform strategic pricing adjustments, and updates and reviews price lists to ensure accuracy and alignment with company goals.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Company’s customer service objectives by monitoring client family surveys, client family correspondence, and/or verbal conversations, and addressing any performance concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives and community networking efforts to drive lead generation and brand awareness,
  • With assistant from Sales Assistant, manage internal CRM system to track prospects, ensure timely follow-up, and support overall sales growth.
  • Plans, directs, appraises, coaches, corrects, rewards, trains, on-boards, off-boards and resolves employee issues.
  • Work with the president to oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy as needed to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Participates with other managers in developing, implementing and supporting the Company's policies, procedures, financial objectives and marketing efforts.
  • Ensure that all projects and reports concerning departmental activities are complete, accurate and on time.
  • Keeps the President informed on issues affecting corporate performance or community relations.
  • Contributes to the company's public image as a positive corporate citizen by participating in community relations, public relations, industry relations, and marketing efforts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the sales department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Four-year college or university program degree or certificate in sales, marketing and/or business administration or equivalent number of years of experience in sales and operations leadership.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

  • Paid Sick and Safe Leave Policy: Full-Time Employees working a minimum of 30 hours are eligible for 80 hours of PSSL per year, which accrues at a rate of 3.077 hours each pay period.
  • Holidays: 8 paid days, but open during certain holidays as stated below:
  • Washington Memorial Park & Mortuary: Open on all holidays except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
  • Satellite Locations: Closed on all holidays except President’s Day and Veteran’s Day when they will maintain regularly scheduled business hours.
  • Employees who work holidays may take another day off with prior approval.
