Job Description

This position is contingent upon contract award. CAE is accepting resumes for rotary wing instructor pilots to train new student pilots enrolled in the United States Air Force Air Education and Training Commands, Introductory Flight Training - Rotary (IFT-R) program. The employee will conduct contact flight training and instrument familiarization in support of the USAF IFT-R program. In coordination with the CAE IFT-R Chief Pilot, Director of Quality Assurance, Standardization and the USAF, CAE Instructor Pilots will be part of a full standardization and training program for the USAF program at the CAE Dothan Training Center. Assures compliance with applicable standards (i.e., USAF, FAR, etc.). Participates in the Quality Management System, quality procedures, and safety programs. Keeps current with changes and modifications to external standards. Participates in identifying and implementing strategies for compliance. Assists with program standardization, evaluation, and maintenance of the tracking database, follow up on deficiencies, and reporting. Coordinates examiner activities across the program to ensure adequate support. Interfaces with program, customer, and CAE USA staff to identify and address quality assurance issues. Interfaces with various departments to identify and execute process improvement opportunities. Conducts business in compliance with corporate policies and applicable regulations. Presents metrics to measure process performance and impact of improvements. Other duties as assigned (e.g., Safety of Flight Officer duties). Qualifications include FAA Certificated Commercial pilot, Helicopter with Instrument helicopter rating, FAA Certificated Flight Instructor Helicopter with Instrument Helicopter instructor rating (current), preferred graduate of US DOD formal Rotary Wing Instructor Pilot training program, prior US Air Force Helicopter instructor pilot experience preferred, total flight time 1,000 hrs with specific turbine, instrument, and night flying hours, 500 hours of Flight Instructor time, experience in primary flight training and military initial flight training or FAA environments, must have instructed students in instrument flight training, current FAA Class 2 medical certificate, ability to work overtime and any shift, highly motivated and self-directed. Only U.S. citizens eligible due to U.S. Government contract requirements. Security responsibilities include compliance with company security and data protection policies and eligibility for DoD Personal Security Clearance. Work environment includes professional classroom/office with exposure to extreme temperatures and use of standard office equipment. Physical demands include lifting at least 40 pounds overhead, walking/climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, bending, crawling, and detecting odors or noises to detect simulator issues.
