Hilo Operator-General Laborer
Day shift- (5am-3am) Monday-Friday & (5am-1pm) Saturday, or as scheduled
Overtime & Saturdays are required.
- Follows all forklift operations and safety practices while operating equipment, while in the plant(s), and while always performing any assigned duties
- Conducts daily usage inspection of equipment, completing documentation, and related duties by following all processes and procedures or as assigned
- Perform work independently following processes/procedures as regularly assigned and under the directives of a lead, supervisor, or department manager
- Transport packed bundles and supplies to/from packing station safely following all instructions and regulations
- Unload and verify packing supplies from truck deliveries, completing documentation following all required processes and/or instructions
- Empty various waste receptacles independently when needed or upon request
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by department supervisor/manager
- Position may require sitting, walking, standing, bending, stretching, kneeling, reaching (including over the head), lifting, and other movements (not specified) for long periods of time
- Attend and complete any Company or outsourced trainings, as assigned and maintain Hilo (certification)
- Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons
- Wear PPE required (i.e: safety glasses, steel toe, ear plugs, gloves, etc.) for position and/or as assigned while performing or in plants at all times
- Perform working duties independently or within a team following rules, practices, processes, instructions as assigned at all times
- Ensure excellent attendance is maintained at all times
- Perform working duties and/or as assigned with high working ethic and attitude to ensure proper processes and instructions are followed
- Must be flexible with the ability to multi-task including performing other work assigned when not operating the hilo
- Must possess and demonstrate the ability to pay attention to details, including enhanced awareness of surroundings and work being performed
- Must be willing to work the scheduled shift times for your shift and/or department
- Demonstrate leadership by following proper practices, processes, and procedures with a positive attitude, and willingness to train/help others.
This job may require the physical ability to perform the duties assigned including but not limited to extensive standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and squatting. Continuous lifting to 75 pounds from the floor to an average waist-high platform, use of various hand tools and instruments, and extreme temperatures.
Requirements - Must be 18yrs or older
- Must have GED or High School Equivelant.
- Must be able to pass drug screening.
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience with operating Hilo.
- State Hilo certification is preferred.
- Working experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Working experience packing in a production/manufacturing facility.
- Must have excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Commute to multiple company facilities and personnel, as needed.
Training
- Use of proper PPE (i.e: safety glasses, steel toe, ear plugs, gloves, etc.).
- Safety Rules and practices.
- On the Job Training:
- Daily Forklift Inspections Checklist
- Operating Forklift
- Proper removal and deposit of scrap materials
- Various Measuring tools (i.e: square, tape measure, etc.)
- Shipping/Receiving
- Packing
- Policies/procedures (QMS, ISO, IATF, etc.)
