DSG is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development Team. In this full time, salaried position, work is typically performed during standard business hours , Monday through Friday , but may vary on occasion according to business needs. The Instructional Designer will support DSG’s strategic goals by designing and developing engaging, performance-focused learning solutions that support new hire onboarding, upskilling, compliance training, and organizational change initiatives.

A Typical Day in the Life of an Instructional Designer at DSG:

  • Design and develop engaging, performance-based learning experiences aligned with business objectives and DSG’s strategic initiatives
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) to create learner-centered solutions
  • Translate complex information into clear, interactive, and measurable learning content across modalities (eLearning, job aids, videos, instructor-led)
  • Integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools and emerging technologies into design workflows to improve efficiency, creativity, and learner engagement
  • Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and end users to design learning that supports organizational change and adoption of new systems and processes
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to ensure consistency in design standards, templates, and delivery methods
  • Measure the effectiveness of learning programs using established evaluation methods (e.g., Kirkpatrick, Phillips)
  • Gather learner and stakeholder feedback to drive iterative improvements and performance impact
  • Stay current on industry best practices, learning science, and innovations in instructional technology with a focus on AI-enhanced learning design and data-driven decision-making

A Successful Instructional Designer Typically Has:

  • Experience using Articulate Storyline and Rise for eLearning development
  • A strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design principles
  • Basic graphic design and visual communication skills using tools such as Canva and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage SMEs, leaders, and peers with empathy and confidence
  • A curious and proactive mindset, with a willingness to explore new or unfamiliar topics
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and helping create clarity where processes are still developing
  • Motivation to make learning practical, accessible, and impactful for real-world applications
  • An interest in exploring AI tools and data-driven approaches to enhance learning design and delivery
  • Experience supporting organizational change, technology adoption, or process improvement initiatives (preferred)
  • Familiarity with LMS or LXP platforms and a strong understanding of learning analytics (a plus)
