Law Clerk in our Carson City Office

Are you looking to elevate your legal career? Are you currently in law school or have just graduated from law school and would like to gain additional experience? Hooks Meng & Clement (HMC) is on the hunt for a committed Law Clerk to become part of our expanding Carson City office.

We specialize in Workers’ Compensation Insurance Defense, OSHA Employer Representation, and Industrial Insurance Litigation, serving a diverse clientele that includes employers, insurers, and third-party administrators. 

The Law Clerk position offers a valuable opportunity for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career as a licensed attorney. The role provides hands-on experience and helps build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills.

$50,000 annually

• Legal Research: Conduct research on various legal topics and provide summaries of findings to support the firm's attorneys.
• Document Preparation: Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Case Management: Support case management tasks, such as scheduling court appearances, preparing case summaries, and organizing case files.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and other stakeholders as directed by the firm's attorneys.

• Education : Bachelor's degree and must have attended or currently be attending law school.
• Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Time Management : Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
• Interpersonal Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with clients.
• Legal Knowledge : Basic understanding of the legal system and legal terminology.
