Job Summary
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team! As a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant you would perform one-time examinations for compensation and pension evaluations for veterans and other military personnel (no prescribing or treatment involved). The evaluation process involves an in-person appointment with the veteran to gather medical history, perform an examination as well as completing a computer-based report. Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations specific to each case
  • Review medical history and the evidence case file and extract pertinent data
  • Complete reports associated with Veterans' Compensation and Pension Exams
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with management and support team as well as partner organizations
  • Utilize computer-based technology to perform examinations, reports and administrative tasks
Qualifications
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner OR
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant
  • Previous experience in primary care is preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in general medical practice
  • Excellent communication and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer technical skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
