Sales Manager : Purpose ** this position sales and not required to be in an office daily but there is an office outside of Roanoke Rapids that one will travel to occasionally

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving top-line growth through direct sales and strategic channel development in Corporate Gifts, Upscale Retailers, Distributors, and Direct-to-Consumer platforms. This role combines strong sales leadership with cross-functional team coordination to ensure smooth order fulfillment, exceptional customer experience, and alignment with the companies mission, vision, and values.
Scope:
This role leads the store sales efforts, with a focus on revenue growth, account management, and market expansion. The manager also oversees internal coordination between sales, customer service, on scheduling, and fulfillment teams to ensure seamless operations. This position reports directly to the Division General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Relations
· Lead strategic sales initiatives targeting Corporate Gift buyers, Upscale Retailers, Distributors, and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) channels.
· Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified leads; convert prospects into long-term, repeat customers.
· Attend trade shows and industry events to identify new sales opportunities and build brand visibility.
· Establish pricing strategies, promotional calendars, and account plans in collaboration with the marketing team.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
· Monitor and analyze sales KPIs, adjusting strategies to meet or exceed targets.
· Ensure all customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues proactively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with production and fulfillment teams to ensure product availability, accurate forecasting, and timely shipments.
· Liaise with Quality Assurance to maintain product standards and ensure compliance with customer expectations.
· Coordinate with Marketing for product launches, seasonal promotions, and packaging development tailored for retail and gift markets.
· Partner with Finance to monitor sales performance, margins, and contribution to the overall profitability of the Specialty Division.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work with plant operations to align customer demand with production capacity.
· Support planning and scheduling efforts to ensure alignment with major orders or promotional pushes.
· Participate in forecasting and inventory management discussions to minimize stockouts or overproduction.
Qualifications *** Highly desired ***
· Proven sales experience with Corporate Gifts, Specialty Retailers, or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) preferred
· Strong B2B and DTC sales acumen with a record of achieving revenue targets
· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
· Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and CRM tools
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Travel
Occasional travel to attend trade shows, visit key accounts, or meet with internal teams at headquarters or other facilities
Financial Controls/Management:
· Extensive sales perform analysis, forecasting, planning.
Education and/or Experience:
· Specialty Food Sales Experience
· 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
· ERP Systems management experience
