Job Title: Supply Chain Applications Specialist (Buyer – OR)

Location: Houston, TX

Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday–Friday (no remote option)

Position Overview:

Seeking a Supply Chain Applications Specialist (Buyer - OR) to support its operating room (OR) purchasing and inventory functions. This critical role will be embedded in the OR procurement team and will ensure the timely acquisition and management of surgical supplies and implants for multiple hospitals within the system. The specialist will work onsite full-time and collaborate closely with OR inventory coordinators and clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage OR-related purchasing activities using PeopleSoft and other SCM tools
  • Validate orders for implants and supplies; monitor availability and delivery timelines
  • Interface with Q-Sight, PAR-X, and other inventory management systems to ensure optimal stock levels
  • Collaborate with OR coordinators to support surgical case readiness
  • Generate and analyze reports using Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
  • Work cross-functionally to support up to 2 hospitals at a time, with additional backup coverage as needed
  • Ensure compliance with vendor credentialing through Symplr
  • Liaise with vendors, supply chain team, and clinicians to troubleshoot procurement issues
  • Maintain documentation and assist in reporting for performance reviews and purchasing KPIs

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Experience:
  • 4–5 years minimum in healthcare purchasing or supply chain
  • Specific experience supporting Operating Room (OR) purchasing is required
  • Experience working with multiple hospitals and high-volume ORs preferred
  • Systems Experience:
  • Required: PeopleSoft, Excel (advanced functions), Q-Sight, PAR-X
  • Preferred: MARS, Prodigo, Workday, Visiant, GXH
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Familiarity with vendor management and credentialing systems like Symplr
