The VP of Marketing sets the high-level strategy, aligns marketing with business objectives, & drives revenue. Primary Focus: Growth strategy, marketing leadership, & performance marketing.

You’ll oversee performance marketing - any and all marketing numbers which is strongly tied into the brand. Our definition of marketing is the communication of the brand. You’ve probably cut your teeth in ecommerce for an emerging brand — if you work at a big company, you’re unlikely to fit in to our culture. In cutting your teeth, you’ve learned how to manage others, prioritize what matters, and to focus on what matters most. For us, that means rucking will be bigger than running. The question is: how do we best support this with our resources across the different channels? We’re not looking for a CMO - we need someone who is still a little closer to the action. If you’re a gritty kind of marketer and you also care about brand, this could be the job for you. Be prepared to discuss HOW you’ve prioritized the brand to drive quantifiable results in your past jobs.

You Bring:
  • 10+ years of experience in DTC marketing, ideally in e-commerce with premium brands and/or fitness, outdoor, premium consumer goods
  • Experience growing an emerging brand (examples Yeti, Ten Thousand, On Running, TRX, etc.)
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and scaling success through brand and performance marketing
  • Strong leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams (content, digital, performance, partnerships)
  • Expertise in digital marketing channels (paid social, search, email, SMS, affiliate, influencer, and partnerships)
  • Data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical and ROI-focused mindset
  • Strong strategic thinker who can align marketing with business objectives
  • Experience working with agencies and in-house teams, optimizing spend, and scaling growth
  • Passion for fitness, rucking, training, veterans and/or strong military supporter, experienced with team sports and/or gear dorks into outdoor fitness
What You'll Do:
  • Overall marketing vision, strategy, and execution to drive customer acquisition, retention, and brand loyalty
  • Oversee all marketing functions, ensuring synergy between brand, creative, and paid media
  • Develop and oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficiency and maximum ROI Lead performance marketing strategy (internal or agency-led) to scale profitable growth
  • Drive go-to-market strategies for product launches, campaigns, and brand initiatives
  • Oversee brand strategy and positioning, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team
  • Partner closely with sales and growth teams to align marketing with business expansion efforts
  • Optimize the marketing tech stack, analytics, and data-driven decision-making
