We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our established general contracting firm. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our financial management team, providing support to the Controller in managing all aspects of our financial operations. This includes maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the company adheres to all legal and company accounting compliance standards. The Assistant Controller will also be responsible for AIA Documentation, G702, and G703. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Controller in the daily management of accounting and financial activities of the company.

2. Ensure compliance with all internal and external accounting standards and regulations.

3. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports to provide accurate and timely financial information to the Controller and other executives.

4. Oversee AIA Documentation, G702, and G703 to ensure accurate and timely completion.

5. Coordinate with the external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.

6. Manage the company's cash flow and prepare forecasts and financial analyses for strategic planning.

7. Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures, including the documentation and review of financial policies and procedures.

8. Participate in the budgeting process and perform periodic budget analyses.

9. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or related certification is highly preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within the construction industry.

3. Strong understanding and experience with AIA Documentation, G702, and G703.

4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.

5. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)

6. Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.

7. High attention to detail with an ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

9. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.

11. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
