PSI is looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable Elder Law Attorney to join our respected legal team in NYC. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of elder law issues, including estate planning, guardianship, long-term care planning, and health care decision-making. This position will involve advising clients on various legal matters that affect older adults and their families, as well as representing clients in legal proceedings related to guardianships, wills, and trusts. The Elder Law Attorney will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and scenarios, providing tailored advice and solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to advocating for the rights of seniors and their families, ensuring they navigate the complexities of elder law with confidence and clarity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and representation in areas related to elder law, including estate planning, Medicaid, and guardianship.
  • Draft and review legal documents, such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Assist clients in understanding their rights and advantages available to them as seniors.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings concerning guardianship and other elder law matters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and their families, providing clear communication and support.
  • Stay up to date with changes in elder law regulations and policies to offer the best guidance to clients.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in elder law, estate planning, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws affecting seniors.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and dedication toward client advocacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work independently while providing exceptional client service.
